For example, the placement of the Khazar theory (that Jews are converted Turko-Mongolians) and the claim that Jews are “not real Jews” can change depending on how the argument is used. It fits Śakuna when the focus is on genetics, physical appearance, ancestry, migration patterns, and selective historical details. It fits Rākṣasa when it is used aggressively to deny Jewish identity, legitimacy, or historical belonging. It fits Preta when it is framed as a claim that Jews stole another people’s identity, land, ancestry, or status. It fits Asura when it is presented as hidden knowledge that supposedly overturns accepted history and proves that established scholarship is false. Overall, these theories fit primarily within Śakuna, with Rākṣasa as a strong secondary category.

Based on the Vedic literature itself, conspiracy theories relate to the rajasic type of mind. It remains unclear whether an entire conspiracy theory can be placed within a single mindset, or whether we need to examine how the theory is used and what purpose it serves. Its classification may remain stable in some cases but vary according to the topic or context.

For example, the birther conspiracy has a relatively singular purpose: to degrade a politician’s legitimacy and public standing. Chemtrail conspiracy theories, however, may fit Piśācha when they are used to create contamination anxiety, toxic projection, fear-mongering, or a sense of hidden violation. The same chemtrail theory may fit Asura when it is presented as evidence of universal institutional corruption. Some conspiracies may therefore contain a mixed expression of two or more types, which may require a more flexible format than a six-row table.

Jew-hatred, having developed over many centuries, has many different forms. The figure of “the Jew” can become a bogeyman onto whom the fears, resentments, and conspiratorial projections of each mental type are placed.

This framework is intended as a starting point rather than a final classification, since the same conspiracy theory may express different rajasic mindsets depending on how it is used. Future research could compare additional theories, historical periods, cultural settings, and patterns of online behavior to refine these categories.
